After the adoption of the fire safety Act, the MRC received the mandate to establish a planning process that integrates all the functions associated with fire safety (prevention, intervention and management).
Scheme covering fire safety risks
A fire safety risk coverage plan, outlining fire risks, is an administrative tool and an important decision-making factor for elected officials. It is also a planning tool for those responsible for the rescue operations. Fire risk management requires knowledge of the possible risks present in their territory. To address these risks, you must :
• Provide fire prevention measures to reduce the probability of fire;
• Plan all fire intervention acts ahead of time to limit the consequences when a fire is ignited.
The MRC de-la-Gatineau Valley has an obligation according to the fire safety Act, to establish a risk coverage plan, in accordance with the guidelines of the ministere de la Sécurité publique regarding fire safety. We invite you to consult the diagram for more information;
